The UK student visa does not waive a tourist visa requirement for France.

The visa requirement is dependent upon your citizenship, you will not need one if you have a passport of Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Bermuda, Brazil, Brunei,Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Holy See, Honduras, Hong Kong, Japan, Macao, Malaysia, Mexico, Monaco, Nicaragua, New Zealand, Panama, Paraguay, San Marino, Singapore, South Korea, United States, Uruguay.

For all other countries a visa would be required. It can be applied for at the French Embassy in the UK only if the student visa you hold is issued for longer than 6 month, otherwise you should have applied for the visa before you started your travel to the UK.

    Yes, you'll need a visa.

consult with the French embassy or consulate in the city you're living.
