Currently Egypt has a republic style of government with an elected President and Prime Minsiter. These two are supposed to share power, but in actuallity the President has most of the power. Egypy does have multiple political parties, which IMO is a good thing. Egypt's legislative branch consists of their parliament, another elected group.

As for good/bad, that is very debatable. Egypt's voter turnout is very low (25% is not uncommon). People associate elected officials with a western lifestyle that can clash with their tradition and culture. Being from western civilization, I believe the democratic process to be a good thing. Others may disagree.
