What do you think about this merry ole Jane poem?

Said merry ole Jane

With a blade through

Her heart, 'Ya seafarin'

Days are over! '

Said bonny old Tom

With a wink in his eye,

'I'd roll you up in clover! '

To which she replied,

Dry-eyed as could be,

'Told ya, ya seafarin

Days were over! Now

Rolls there will be...

Not remember

The sea...you'll toss,

You'll turn, tumble about.

Your 'tacking' the 'winds'

Will be me. Here I am,

With many a sail...roll

Me up, roll me down,

In me lace gown...

Now... regret your sea.'

Said bonny old Tom,

'Woman, very well said.

But, my journeys last

Six months at a time! '

Said Jane, 'Of course

I know! You'll be rollin

In bed. And your

Blasted ship

Will be mine.'

I think it is very entertaining!! Merry ole jane,is the blade through her heart, from Tom? As if his going to sea for 6 months, has broken Her heart? Is Tom rollin in bed with a wench,or is it just the sea? Seems a very good question,to Me!! If the wench is the case, then the blasted ship Jane should be able to get, without much pain!! Very Good! As if I expected a bad poem from You! (NOT) You always write poems that make Me want to read them again and again!! And I thank You!!

A true seafarin man will have no truk wi tha laiks o a wee wench tryin ta taik over his ship. His ship be his first an last love, an even the best wench must play a second fiddle to her.

Very nice poem, full of humour flows well i enjoyed it. It reminded me of an old song, from way back " Red Sails in the Sunset", 1930s i think.

I knew someone like that called Merry Ol Joe.

He saw you in your lace gown while you were tending bridges.

He said it was a sight for sore eyes.

He thought he was dreming until he hit the piller.

Ever since then he quit drinkin and hasn't seen you since.

    Poor Ol Joe..........

    He he he he........
