Which poem should i use for school? :)?

Well, i have to write a poem based off a message (like love, sameness, etc, etc) given in the book The Giver by Lois Lowry. Mine are....weird. I don't really think they HAVE a message, but i can't think of anything else.

#1-

No longer can i

tell the truth from a lie

and i'm scared that there ain't a cure

But the feelings are known,

and i'm ready to run,

about this, i am truly sure.

FOr once in my life,

I'm ready to fight,

for this, i really do care.

No running, no hiding,

no fleeing, no flighting,

No longer am i "too scared"

THe time is right

so i'll leave tonight

to show that this is what they need

Behind me, my past

none of these feelings will last,

as i carry on about my noble steed

#2-

Some people say the past is the past,

and the future is what we hold

But when it comes to the unknown some stories should never be told

Should we talk about things that we know,

such as the future and what we may see?

What if i told you some things to expect,

would you be curious for such a decree?

To know what i know, to see what i see,

to feel what i feel, to be like me.

Would you want this?

Well, it appears you have not a choice.

Or do you?

Which one sounds better for school (and gives off a good message..)?

any suggestions for changing it? :)

thanks guys!

I liked both poems. I think the second one would be better if it didnt have the last two lines. I would pick the first one. I really liked that one. Also it sends off more of a message. I feel like its saying that you're reay to let go of your past and move on being more brave.

I'd definitely go with #1...It has more of a message like...moving on from troubles or thinking about staying and facing them but then int he end deciding to move on...if you know what I mean.

By the way, I wanna congratulate you...I would never be able to write 2 good poems. :)
