What does Public Services in Assurance mean?

I'm applying for an internship at Price Waterhouse Coopers and they have Business area = Assurance, Business Stream = Public Services

What does that mean exactly? What does it involve?

    It means the public sector division of the audit and assurance business stream. This mean as opposed to auditing the accounts of big corporate companies, you would be auditing the accounts of public sector, ie: nhs, fire stations, schools etc. Generally shorter working hours than corporate audit, but the downside can be pigeon-holing yourself into a very specific area of audit (means is harder to move jobs in future)
