No, Justin deserved the award more than Jeter did.
The Twins wouldn't have made it to the post-season, or would have made their second half push if it wasn't for Morneau. He carried the Twins on his back, and if it wasn't for him, we wouldn't have made it.
Sure, we have other guys on the team who helped, like Mauer, Hunter, Cuddyer, etc. But the main reason was Justin. The Twins would be nothing without him.
I'm not saying that Jeter wasn't a big part of the Yankees that year, but like others have said, he wasn't the main guy to carry the team. The Yankees had enough guys that contributed that made it so Jeter's help wasn't as criticals as Justin's was. Without Jeter, the Yankees would have still made it to the post season.
The MVP award isn't all about the big numbers. Sorry, but Justin deserved it a lot more for what he did.
