If you needed a birth certificate in a hurry, what would be the best US State to get one at?

You need to get it from the county in the state you were born in.

No one else has it, its usually called the Bureau of VItal Statistics.

There is no national registry.

You would have to go through that state that you were born in, rather, the municipality where you were born and where the certificate was originally filed.

I doubt Texas, for example, would issue a birth certificate for someone born in, Louisiana. And even within the state, you would have to go through the clerks' office in the municipality.

Not a US State, but Nigeria is one of the best places in the world to get someone to forge records. There is supposedly one street in Lagos that does nothing but forge records. That is how corrupt that country is. I feel sorry for those innocent people who live there that are caught up in that crossfire.
