Why ant alone is dull but with colony it's Intelligent?

    Intelligence has nothing to do with it, it's all instinct. Each ant is programmed from birth to do a specific job that benefits the colony as a whole (this is determined by what they're fed as larvae). One ant really doesn't do much, some cannot even feed themselves without the help its sisters and only the queen can reproduce, but a whole colony of ants can accomplish a lot.
