.flac to .mp3 converting help?

Hi,

Recently I just downloaded a discography of a friend and I realised all the files were in .flac, and even though they were in fantastic quality(made them also big files...), I realised there was no way my Ipod would enabling them for synchronising. Any way to convert .flac to .mp3 withou't ruining the quality much?
