I'm desperate - please help!?
She gets horrible hives like every 3 weeks. It's not the food, detergents.. We got her tested already. No doctor can help us! What can cause hives?
she is 2 years old. We live in Florida. The skin issue started 4 months ago. She just had a cold and the weather is changing. During the day she gets better. It's not her bed though.

Tests are not always accurate at that age. The only way to be sure is to do elimination tests. Change soaps and detergents for at least a week and double rinse all clothes because something could linger. Also dryer sheets and softners can coat the inside of the dryer and get on clean things so you need to wipe it off. The fact that she doesn't have them all the time though points to something else. You need to keep a log of everything and everyone that she comes into contact with. It could be a food or a food additive like MSG. The testing they do doesn't check for everything. It's really hard sometimes with a child that young, There is a good allergy thread on Ivillage, com that you might try out. Good luck. Patti
