I am looking for a touching sorta song from around 2004 or 2005?

I heard it on the radio around '04 or '05. It's a slower kind of song about a guy who had a friend die and in the course of the song he steals the ashes to scatter them as per the dead friend's request and says something maybe about the mother or parents understanding. Can anybody please name this song?

Update:

It's a kind of slower, softer song, there's really no metal or rock sound to it. More of a mellow solemn sound to it.
