Is there a cell phone ban in Harris County (Houston, TX)?

I've heard both yes and no. Just wondering if it's legal to drive on the phone in Houston.

Only in certain school zones is it illegal to talk on the phone while driving in Harris County. But, in most school zones and everywhere else, it is legal. But, I hope they do make it illegal someday.

What's with the thumbs down? It's an honest answer. Here's an article to provide an example: http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/5964375....

I think you mean, "Is it legal to talk on a cell phone while driving your vehicle?"

Driving "on the phone" could damage it.

Yes, it is legal to talk on a cell phone while driving here in Texas.

You get up into some of those lefty Yankee states like New York or New Jersey and you'll get pulled over for it.

I don't think so. It should be illegal, though, the way these people drive.
