    Change to improper fractions:

    2 1/2 x 3 2/9

    5/2 * 29/9

Multiply numerators together and denominators together...

    5 * 29 = 145

    2 * 9 = 18

    So you have:

    145/18

    Which changes to:

    8 1/18

    well.... its easy

    convert 2 1/2 to 2.5

    and 3 2/9 to 3.222222222

    2.5 x 3.222222222= 8.0555555...

    2 1/2 x 3 2/9

    = (2x1)/2 x (3x2)/9

    = 1 x (3x2)/9

    = (3x2)/9

    = (3x2)/(3x3)
