chocolate chip cookies?

I baked this recipe for chocolate chip cookies

* 2 cups all-purpose flour

* 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

* 1/2 teaspoon salt

* 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

* 1 cup packed brown sugar

* 1/2 cup white sugar

* 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

* 1 egg

* 1 egg yolk

* 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

but when i did, it didn't flatten at all

it stayed the same mound and didn't become soft

can someone tell me why this happened or maybe give me a better recipe?

p.s. i don't have chocolate chips so i don't use it. Could that be the reason ?

    Did you spoon your flour into the measuring cup instead of dipping it? You could try that.

    you used too much flour. I usually use one cup.

    this is a really good recipe for chocolate chip cookies.

    1 stick butter melted

    1 tablespoon of baking soda

    1 tablespoon salt

    1 cups all-purpose flour

    1/2 cup packed brown sugar

    1/3 cup white sugar

    1 tablespoon vanilla extract

    1 egg

    1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

    The measurements are good, but you should use two whole eggs and up the butter to 14 tablespoons (1 3/4 sticks).

    Chocolate Chip Cookie! too lots chocolate takes remote from the goodness of the cookie. i think of Chocolate Chip Cookies are extra of a stability and zen of cookie and chocolate.

    too much dry ingredients try sr flour instead of plain thatll give them a kick i love choc cookies yum!

    Yeah, that is too much flour.
