The prime factors of 13195 are 5, 7, 13 and 29. What is the largest prime factor of the number 600851475143 ?

    That would take awhile to factor by hand. It's easier to use a program to factor it for you.

    = 71 * 839 * 1,471 * 6,857

    Start dividing it up and see.

    I'd start with the small primes and see which ones it is divisible by. Then I'd start doing a prime factorization. Each time you divide it evenly by something, put it in the tree and work on the new number.
