# Help me calculate the percentage?

Hi, please calculate my final percentage

three exams each worth 20%

my percentages:

52%

46%

52%

What is the lowest grade I need to get on the last exam (worth 40% of final grade) to get 61% average for my final grade?

A: 100% - 86%

B: 85% - 76%

C: 75% - 61%

D: 60% - 45%

F: 44% - 0%.

Thanks!

The minimum grade you could get is a 78.

78 x 4 = 312

52 x 2 = 104

46 x 2 = 92

52 x 2 = 104

added together = 612 divided by 10 = 61.2 would be your final grade if you got a 78 on your last exam.

and to the clowns that posted that 61 was a "D" may need to take their own advice. It appears they need to lay off of you and get into their own books.

Hope this helps.

take 52 times .2

etc

since each is worth 20%

exams

1 = 10.4

2 = 9.2

3 = 10.4

total = 30

you want a 61... 61 - 30 = 31

so you want AT least 31 from your percentage on final

If you get 90% take 90 x .4 = 36 close

86 x .4 = 34.4

78 = 31.2 VERY CLOSE

77 = 30.8

looks like you need a 77% or above to get a 61%

the highest score for each exam is 100 points for the first 3 exams.

the last exam is worth double...200 points.

if you got every question right, you'd have 500 total points.

to get a 61%, you need 305 points total (500 x 0.61= 305)

so far, you have 150 points so you need 155 points for the last exam.

since the last exam is double you need to divide this in half to find the percentage that you need... 77.5

GOOD LUCK, hope you get the score you need.

easiest to work out if u count the last paper as two, each worth 20%

(52 + 46 + 52 + 2x)/5 = 61

150 + 2x = 305

2x = 155

x = 75.5%

think u need 75.5% to get ur 61% average

To answer your question, you need to pull a 77.5 to get a 61.

Basically, a B on the final should give you a D overall.

To get an exact grade of 61, you need a 77.5% (B) on your last exam.

Good luck and hope you make your goal.

.2(52) + .2(46) + .2(52) + .4(x) = 61

10.4+9.2+10.4+.4x = 61

30 + .4x = 61

.4x = 31

x = 77.5

If you score higher than a 77.5 you will get higher than a 61. But I can see math is no your forte......
