Why is it so difficult finding a job when someone is over 40?

Actually, today it is difficult for anyone to find a job.
But, generally speaking.. Lots of reasons. Older people are going to require more time off work to go to doc apts or family emergencies. Older people are more likely to put their own life first rather than the job. Older people are more likely to cost the company more on the health benefits.

Cause experience demands higher wages
which is one of the main reasons our jobs
have gone over seas, not to mention living
in a society that values youth more than
time tested wisdom, not that young people
are stupid mind you, but older workers know
the tricks of the trade if you will, and that
doesn't sit well, with most employers . . .
