Quick Quantum Numbers Help PLEASE!!!!?
Give the maximum number of electrons in an atom that can have these quantum numbers.
n = 2, l = 2

n=2 means second energy level like second period on the periodic table and l=2 means that the electrons last filling are i a d subshell which is impossible on the second energy level. The second energy level only fills electrons in the s and p subshell which makes their l values 0, 1. The d subshell only shifts up to the third energy level and l=2 means d subshell and is impossible for the second energy level so these numbers are impossible. Trick question
