why did Grendel attack the harot?

If the harot was the hall they were residing in, he did it because of the noise they were making. He couldn't stand the noise because he was super sensitive to things like light and noise.

Because of all the noise and commotion the people at Harot were making. Plus, he was an outcast and portrayed as a demon so he was probably really aggressive as well.
