Why did the U.S. get involved in the Great War?

Just needed to make sure that it's because the Lucitania was attacked.

    The biggest reason was the Zimmerman Doctrine in which Germany asked Mexico to attack the USA to prevent our entrance into the European Theater. Germany had promised to give Mexico all the lands back that it had lost to the USA during the Mexican-American War.

    However the Lucitania was a secondary reason.
