Are home warranties worth the money?

I live in an 8 year old home, and from my research, the lifespan of many appliances is 7 - 15 years.

I'm an electrician and have worked for mortgage insurance companies. Most of them cover the bare minimum repairs. If they give you a policy on an 8 year home the payments will be high. Your better off saving the payment you would have made to them to pay for the repairs yourself. Home owners insurance is for the disasters.

No, what it could value for the provider call and guarantee could pay for the 1st couple of calls, positioned the money into an emergency fund, that what an emergency fund is used for.
