The Holocaust was a mass slaying of 6million Jews and other "undesirables" in Germany. It happened from 1939-1945 It occurred because an evil (ugly) German dictator named Adolf Hitler took control of Germany and started the Nazi party. It's results were the loss of many children and young adults, teens, middle aged people, and many elderly people. We could have lost future doctors, lawyers, einsteins, leaders, etc. It involved the Nazi Adolf Hitler, Americans, Germans, Russians, Poles, Britain's, Yugoslov's, Australians, Canadians, basically the world, because it took place in WWII hence the "World War" part of it. The Holocaust was a very gruesome, tragic event that should be prevented by all other nation's NOT involved at all costs, Hitler was an evil man. Thanks to him the world had lost 1/7 of its population. Hitler finally committed suicide when defeat by allied forces was iminent, he went downstairs from the bunker, and shot himself in his head, his wife lying beside him, had poisoned herself with Cyadine. Thus the ending of the Holocaust, and the beginning of the Nuremberg trials. Where the last 22 head Nazi's remaining pleaded to the court, "We were only following orders!"

    What was the Holocaust?

A program to exterminate the Jewish populace of Europe (and ultimately the rest of the world who was NOT German-Born or one Generation of a German-born descendant

    When did it happen?

    I the 1930's until wars end May 8 1945

    Why did it occur?

The German Leaders felt predudice at the wealth that is the mainstay of Jewish philosophy, that those who are materially "rich" is a sign of God that they are chosen to be permitted into a higher Heaven than those who are not (they do not believe in Hell or the like).

    What were it's results?

At first, nothing. Allies didn't have the power to do anything about (just like Bosnia in the early 90's). Were it not for WWII occurring, Hitler's government would have succeeded in destroying every Jew in Europe.

It reduced the power base of the Jewish influence and depleted their wealth to other peoples in society.

Who did it involve? Jewish and handicapped mainly.(6 mill and 2 mill respectively) But POW's,(2 mill) Armenians and other non-arian peoples, and political dissedents (4 mill) were also targets.

Source(s): I have a history minor, and WWII is my focus Remember, when you study history, always, always, always focus on !!!!Wealth and Rescources!!!!! to pivot your answers...because that is what history pivots on.
