By request, here is my answer! LOL
I hate to disappoint, but I have never heard of a specific case of this happening, but I have heard some "wild" stories involving angels/demons that I think are made- up. I do know that the elders are supposed to pray with/for the person whom they suspect could be harboring demons. I did have one young MS tell me about a weird noise he and his wife kept hearing in their rented house and how they tore the house apart looking for whatever trinket they might have brought in that might be inviting the demon(s).
JWs believe that all sorts of objects can contain/invite demons into one's home, but they do not believe in "exorcism" as it occurred in the scriptures;
"True, during the infancy of the Christian congregation, Jehovah God often enabled Jesus’ disciples to perform miracles under the power of His holy spirit. But such miraculous gifts of the spirit were no longer needed once it had been proved that the “hand of Jehovah” was with the followers of Jesus Christ. Consequently, the miraculous gifts of the spirit and unusual demonstrations of its power passed away... Obviously, to resist wicked spirit forces, a person should guard against association with those who dabble in magic, witchcraft and the like. Instead, association should be sought with those who are true Christians. He should remove from his person and his home any object having any connection with demonic religion... If under demon assault, it is essential to pray to Jehovah God through Jesus Christ, using the Divine Name... Appointed overseers in the Christian congregation gladly have assisted those desiring to serve God but who were being troubled by the demons. Yet, the mental attitude of the individual himself is of importance... Modern-day exorcism with its ritual is not the answer to demon possession. Rather, Jehovah God has lovingly provided protection from wicked spirit forces, and prudent persons will avail themselves of it. No, Christians should not practice exorcism rites. But they should keep their minds and hearts fixed on the worship and service of their heavenly Father." Awake! May 22, 1977
I also found this snippet from their "Insight" book under the topic "Demon Possession";
"Often the wild and uncontrolled conduct of mentally unbalanced persons is due to possession by these invisible minions of Satan."
I guess the above information also answers your secondary question of how they can hold a demon- possessed person responsible for their actions. They obviously hold the view that if you're being influenced by demons then it's your own fault since you invited them, so any consequence of that is also your fault!
Yep- gotta love it!!!
