how do you get a birth certificate if you were born on guam?

My parents were not in the military, but my dad was working for the U.S. government.

These instructions were on the Naval Hospital website.

    1. All births on Guam are registered with the Office of Vital Statistics at Public I Health. It can take up to 10 to 15 working days to process the Birth Certificate. You can call either the Patient Administration Office at 344-9356 or the Office of Vital Statistics at 735-7292 to find out the status of your child's Birth Certificate.

    2. Once Public Health has possession of the Birth Certificate Worksheet, it will be ready for pick up the next working day.

    3. The Office of Vital Statistics is located on the first floor of the Public Health building in Mangilao on Route 10.

    4. The mailing address is:

Department of Public Health and Social Services

    Office of Vital Statistics

    P.O. Box 2816

    Agana, GUAM 96932

    5. Money orders should be made payable to: The Treasurer of Guam. The Office of Vital Statistics does not accept personal checks. If you mail you Request, enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope for return of the Certificate of Live Birth. All future requests for Birth Certificates should be made through the above address. The fees are:

    Certificate of Live Birth $5.00

    Spelling Corrections $10.00

    Other Amendments $10.00

The first couple of paragraphs refer to babies born there however the address should be good to write to for the information you need.

It's the only semi official thing I could find. Everything else seemed to be a commercial place and you don't need to deal with them.

Get a No Cost Background Check Scan at

Its a sensible way to start. The site allows you to do a no cost scan simply to find out if any sort of data is in existence. A smaller analysis is done without cost. To get a detailed report its a modest payment.

You may not realize how many good reasons there are to try and find out more about the people around you. After all, whether you're talking about new friends, employees, doctors, caretakers for elderly family members, or even significant others, you, as a citizen, have a right to know whether the people you surround yourself with are who they say they are. This goes double in any situation that involves your children, which not only includes teachers and babysitters, but also scout masters, little league coaches and others. Bottom line, if you want to find out more about someone, you should perform a background check.

I don't see Guam as part of the US or the Territory of the US for birth certificates
