what is the low level of neurotransmitter that is suspected in parkinson's diesease?

Actually it is dopamine AND norepinephrine.
It is now felt that as the dopamine is depleted to between 60 and 80%, norepinephrine takes up the neurotransmitting tasks until it too is seriously depleted.
These are earlier and not much help but take a look:
You raise an interesting argument by listing serontonin because it is possible that certain personality elements for example worry may be a precursor to PD. There is an argument that worry and depression are related. Your point appears to be which came first? the low serontonin level - depression leading to the depletion of dopamine and norepinephrine or the later depression in PD as a result of lowered serontonin levels.
ACH is certainly a contributory factor in chemical induced PD and in lab inducing but has not been substantiated otherwise.
I appreciate this line of thought and I don't think all of the results are in yet.Source(s): In narrative
