My son has been watching tv since he was about 6 months old. Now he's almost 3 and, I will admit, he watches a lot of tv in the morning. I'm 28 weeks pregnant and on the mornings that I don't feel so good or am really tired, I will let him watch more than normal. Not all mornings though because we have gymboree class, art class, music class and we go to the gym. In the afternoons he doesn't watch much because we are out and about doing stuff. I only let him watch certain programs though. He can watch blue's clues, Dora, Diego, wonder pets and Little Bear. I feel those particular programs are at least educational and he is learning while he is watching. For a 2 year old, he is so smart and so well rounded....aside of knowing how to count and say his abc's, he knows spanish words, he knows about feelings, teamwork, etc. and those shows have definintely helped to reinforce and teach him those things. I don't feel people should use tv as a babysitter just because they want to be lazy, but if you control what they watch, tv time is fine.
