what is a pilot circuit on a carburetor?

    The pilot circuit controls the amount of fuel dispensed between the idle circuit and the main circuit.

    If this circuit is faulty or miss calibrated it can cause excessive fuel use or bogging and hesitation on slow take offs. It can affect the idle if it's way off but has little or no affect on the main circuit at high speed.

    sounds like the idle portion of the carb.
