All that you can think of- including the fishermen, boatmen, tailors, traders, moneylenders, water bearers, oil pressers, farmers, cleaners, soldiers, teachers, clerics, barbers, mouse catchers, temple priests, shoe makers, accountants, pall bearers , washer-men, warriors, cow-herds, musicians, dancers, ironsmiths, goldsmith, carpenter, cremator, gardener, village head, govt. officials, medicine makers, snake charmers, and even nomads... you name it and there is a caste/ sub-caste for it. Caste is a social group which is endogamous. Generally a sub-caste is divided into Exogamous groups based on same gotras . Caste is traditionally based on a profession or job. Although generally identified with Hinduism, the caste system was also observed among followers of other religions in the Indian subcontinent, including some groups of Muslims and Christians.
