Why are the Supreme Court justices not elected by the people?

    That, actually, is a fair question.

    The only real reason is that the Constitution of the United States says that it is a Presidential power.

    There is no way to change this other than a Constitutional Amendment.

    Theyre supposed to be, but they can also be appointed. And they usually are.
