What do you think about Emanuel?

He said that Republicans should go f*** themselves. This is who Obama chose as his Chief of Staff? Does this mean he is going to work together with Republicans and govern from the center, or does this mean his far left radical intentions are shining through?

For all the liberals who agree with Emanuel, wasn't your position throughout this election and post election that we should all put our partisan views aside and work together?

Marina, I've never seen, heard, read, or known a liberal willing to work with anyone other than fellow liberals. These people think they are better than the rest of us. In their minds they are above the rest of us, and therefore they are going to "save" us from ourselves...even if it is against our will. They are narcissists. In their minds we have absolutely nothing to contribute, so why should they listen to us. After all we're simple, ignorant, backwater, inbred, racist, hillbillies in their eyes so we couldn't possibly know anything. Now to answer your question. Emanuel will have to eat his words for at least the first 3 years of Obama's administration. Once they get past the first 3 years and pretty much have the next 4 years locked up...then you'll see the UBER-LIBERAL come out and destroy what's left of the American way of life. Get ready for Socialism's coming.

Rahm Emanuel would be the "bad cop" to Obama's "good cop."

Emanuel hand picked Democratic candidates for the House of Representatives. Emanuel was appointed by then House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi to serve as Chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Under his leadership, the DCCC expanded the Democratic Party’s reach in every region of the country. Democrats gained 30 seats in the House and ushered in a new Democratic majority in the House of Representatives in 2006 and added another 20 seats in 2008. It looks like Party loyalty was more important for those candidates than competency.

I don't like Emanuel's ties to Israel's Likud Party. However, AIPAC, loves this guy. I guess picking Rahm Emanuel shows that Obama is go-along get-along kind-of-guy. Nothing flashy, at least initially.

In any case there won't be Middle East Peace so long as Rahm Emanuel is Chief of Staff. Then again, his hero Menachem Begin did sign the 1978 Camp David Accords that brought peace between Israel and Egypt and it's possible that Likud has finally realized that Israel has far more to gain with peace than with continuing war with the Palestinians.

Nothing says "unity" and "bipartisanship" like picking a cutthroat partisan as your first cabinet appointment.

Look, libs, Obama can pick whoever he wants, and it's not like I expected him to pick Fred Thompson as his Chief of Staff, but this Emanuel guy is so blatantly partisan it can't go unnoticed. We all know Obama and Emanuel are two of a kind--typical Chicago-bred partisans. If that's your style, so be it, but don't insult our intelligence by telling us he's going to govern from the center.

So much for working together and bi-partisanship

Emanuel is about as partisan and extreme to the left as they come

It didn't take long for Obama's true side to start showing

leave the USA and come to canada!?

its nice here ^^ stable and quiet haha!

4 years from now, there is most likely an irreversible economic decline

and america will diminish, till its practically forgotten in decades

    no kidding

i'm not upset with the state of america

    its just a "change" rite?

whatever happens, i'm just gonna take care of my own life and go on.

everything in a cycle reaches peak and then declines --like rome which ate itself inside out.

Source(s): i really bet, america will change* drastically in 10 yrs that its become unrecognizable from years b4; it won't be a power i think there's going to be alot of grief ppl rite now are quite desperate and radical already i don't hold anything against obama either; every leader is a practical reflection of the kind of people who voted for him; so every voter votes for someone who they "deserve" if a voter is blind, he/she won't recognize a "blind leader" same way around ; america is deteriorating. just think of the education? ; america cheated itself from a system that would have impact generations later; ppl aren't knowledgable; you can already tell from voting bush--he wasn't even stable in his campaign

Being that he is a Washington insider and a former member of the Clinton staff, I don't really how he fits in to the whole "change" mantra.

    Oh gosh :/

Give them a chance before you start pouncing on them ! He hasnt even chosen the rest of his cabinet yet!

PS. Emanuel is a GREAT choice, love him. Ofcourse Republicans dislike him because hes intimidating to them....hes the REAL Political pitbull...

And sure, we should work together...Doesnt mean Obama's going to choose all right wingers for his cabinet! First things first: Gather all the loyal Dems and Libs that helped him get to where he is and are strong players. In Politics, hun, NO ONE is partisan. But working together despite differences, disagreeing but debating to common ground is what Obama wants to do.

He will work as well with the republicans, as the republicans worked with the democrats, when the republicans had the power. How do you like it when the shoe is on the other foot?
