Who should be Obama's Secretary of State?

I think he wants John Kerry, but conservatives would throw a fit over that.

Chuck Hagel has been mentioned for this position. I think he would be a good choice, not just because of his particular strengths, but also because Obama can send a message that, by choosing some Republicans for his administration (as he said he'd do), he intends to govern for all Americans and not just the people who voted for him. Creating a moderate administration should help create a political environment of respect and cooperation for opposing ideologies. That would be a wonderful change from the "us vs. them" mentality of the Bush Era (mostly courtesy of Rove and Cheney).

It's going to be nice to have an adult in the White House. It's such a huge change from the Bush Administration.

regrettably Colin Powell lost all creditability whilst Bush used him as a puppet to cajole the american people who Iraq develop into fairly available. i think of Wesley Clark could be a solid determination for secure practices Secretary.

John Kerry carries a surrender flag with him wherever he goes.

We don't need a WEAK SoS since we already have a weak President-elect.
