When you add logs you can multiply the insides

Step 1.

ln( (x)(x^2 +4) = 10

then you can take each of these to the e.

e^(ln( (x)(x^2 +4)) = e^10

e^ln = 1

Therefore

x(x^2 + 4) = e^10

Therefore

x = e^10 and

x = sqrt( e^10 - 4)
