Can I freeze cookie dough?

If I make a couple of batches of cookie dough, can I freeze it for later baking? I'm talking about just basic chocolate cookie dough.

Yes. I flash freeze balls of cookie dough and bag them.

Make up your favorite drop cookie recipe and then use a cookie scoop to drop the dough onto a nonstick sprayed baking sheet. Freeze balls of dough until solid. Bag them in freezer bags. Be sure to label them.

Later pull out what you need and bake.

I freeze cookie dough all the time. Then I just thaw and scoop. I either use ziploc bags or buy containers with snap-on lids. Just include the instructions and you are good to go.
