    Well i assume you are talking about graphs and maybe learning slope.

    Distribute the 3 to the X and 1 to get the form Y=mx+b

    Y=3X+1

    1 being the Y-intercept and 3 being the slope

    distribute the 3 through the parentheses to get

    y = 3x + 3

    distribute the 3 to the x+1 so it becomes y=3X+3. and that's it :p

    you want equal values. 2.4 times what is the same as 24? The answer: 2.4 times 10. That 10 is to the first power, so you add 1 to the power of 10 you already had and get 2.4 * 10 to the power of 15 or can be written 2.4 * 10^15

    You need to have one of the variables, you cannot solve this equation with two unknowns as far as I know.
