I sold a laptop on eBay - and the "buyer" refuses to send payment until he recieves the laptop - - - ?

Question

Should I just mark it as unpaid and re list it or wait until he decides to pull his head out of his ***?

He bought a $6000 laptop for less than $2000 and he's complaining!

This is why I hate eBay lol

Definitely do not send the laptop before you get paid, thats how people get scammed. Tell him that either he pays you and as soon as you receive payment you will send it, or the purchase will be void. That's how ebay works.
Also you should have tried selling it for more!

In all transactions on Ebay, the buyer must first pay. The seller may offer a return policy, but it has always been "Let the buyer beware".

That's why there is feedback, so the buyer can judge the risk of sending money. Besides, if he uses Paypal, he has protection from them, if a dispute arises later.

NEVER send merchandise for inspection prior to sale. If he wants it, he pays for it first. The same way it works in stores.

You can get a tracking number and send that. (you should be able to get a tracking number even before sending it). Email the tracking number, and the person should pay.

If the person refused to pay, you can call a shipping company and see if they would be willing to hold it at a site until the person comes to pick it up. If it's through paypal, they should be willing to hold the funds until verification from the buyer, but there should be a way to verify that the funds were at least sent prior to sending the package. Document with EBAY that you want them to verify that the funds were sent, and that they can verify that it's just waiting for verification.

Or, you could next time ues a sell on ebay shop, and have them assume all the risk.

You know what dont put up with it mark it as unpaid and re list it the rules are that you pay for the product first and then you resive the item. I hate when buyers act dumb about it why bid if the arnt willing to pay. I will buy it from you lol send me the link to it :)

Hi. Don't you dare send him the laptop unpaid. Mark it as unpaid and re-list it. You might even be able to get more from someone else. Sounds like he is trying to cheat you out of it. Send ebay a formal complaint about their stupid new rule. I would go as far as accusing ebay of trying to cheat you and threaten to to sell it in you're local news paper instead. Who knows, you might get more for it in the paper. The world is full of crooked, dishonest people. Be prepared, you might have to go as far as changing you're email address to get rid of both him and ebay.

You can go ahead and report him as "unpaid" if you wish because what he asks for is ridiculous. Just ask him if Amazon.com let him pay after receiving the item. The concept works the same way for an ebay seller (ie you).

no dont do it. Put in a complaint to ebay for non payment. and give him bad feedback. If he wants security that he will get it then hes going to have to trust you like all the other ebayers or pay $6000 and buy it at a store.

forget it. mark it unpaid and relist it.

Try telling him to send the money first! Many were fooled by that! If he refuses, sell it to a different person. He ain't the only man in the world looking for a laptop.

Just mark it unlisted and file with Ebay. Don't give negative feedback unless you want the same thing back from him. Right it off as experience.
