How can I decide what video cards are compatible with my processor and motherboard?

It all depends on what slots you have on the motherboard.
If you have an AGP slot, then ANY agp graphics card will workfine.
If you have a PCI-E slot, then there is a much wider range of more modern, much faster graphics cards available.
It doesnt matter what cpu you have, ,an amd 64 3500+ cpu is fine for running any graphics card.
Graphics cards have their own processor and their own ram (memory) so processor size and ram dont matter. Al that matters is what available slots you have on your motherboard.
Google your motherboards make and model number for a list of what slots you have (if you are unsure yourself).
Take the plunge and get a graphics card, , the graphics you have at present are absalutly rubbish and ANY card you buy to replace what you have will startle you with the extra performance.
