Good way to swirl cupcake batter?

My wife and i r making cupcakes for a halloween party and we want to swirl the batter, not the icing, black and orange. does anyone know the best way to make it look swirled and not just plain weird?

    make 3/4 of the batter a lovely orange, and 1/4 of it chocolate with black food coloring added to make it black.

    Reason for that is that the black is usually sort of grey looking when baked.

    fill your cupcake cups 2/3 full with the orange batter, put a tablespoon of the black on it and stick a knife in and swirl it around once or twice, not more!!
