    超音波(ultrasonic)洗淨機是應用超音波頻率高、波長短,使液體產生無數微小的半真空泡(cavitation),即為「空洞(穴)現象」 。因汽泡快速形成並迅速內爆,即產生強大沖擊機能;而對洗淨物之死角細縫等污垢,用其強大之剝離、穿透力、並配合洗劑使達成完全清洗之效果,隨著超聲頻率的提高,氣泡數量增加而爆破沖擊力減弱,因此,高頻超聲特別適用於小顆粒污垢的清洗而不破環其工件表面。氣泡是在液體中施加高頻(超音頻率)、高強度的音波而產生的。而被清的物體最好放在駐波的波腹處。

    例:40kHz的頻率,在水之場合求波長及駐波為何?

    1500000(mm / s)÷ 40000(Hz)= 37.5 (mm )---波長

    37.5 (mm ) ÷ 2 = 19 (mm )左右---駐波
