The mass of the water displaced is equal to the mass of the object which is floating. So assume that one cubic meter of water is being displaced by the iceberg. The floating thing must have mass of 1024kg. Therefore the piece of ice must be 1.12 cubic meters.

m1= d1 * v1 = d2 * v2 = m2

If this floating piece of ice will displace 1 cubic meter of water, then 0.12 cubic meters must stick out of the water. So, the fraction that sticks out is

0.12 / 1.12 = 0.11

or 11%.

Melting sea ice has no effect on the sea level because the amount (or mass) of water in the ice is exactly equal to the amount of water being displaced by the ice. As it melts the water in the ice will shrink down until it is the exact same size as part of the ice which was previously submerged.

Observe that nobody claims to know the mass of ice that is sitting on dry land.

The global sea levels will only rise IF Ice on LAND melts... that is Ice that is on the mountains of Antarctica melts.
