Is Russia still fighting Chechnya?

Or did they resolve that whole situation?

    . No they still not there. They have withdrawing there troops from Chechnya. However the Russian have troops just at the border to Chechnya.

    I think they brought it under control a couple years ago.

    Personally I think Russia is doing a good thing suppressing the rebel movement over there. The situation is very much like the war in Iraq. Population is peaceful yet there are separatists groups who are causing terror. Perhaps I would have more sympathy for those Chechen Guerrila fighters if they did not use such gruesome, animal-like terrorist tactics to further their cause. Another radical islam/taliban controlled government will not be good for anybody.

    they were fighting georgia......

    and yes they have resolved that and have a date on which they had to withdraw
