Why is AP releasing outdated polls?

AP has just released a poll putting Obama merely 1 point ahead of Republican McCain-- yet EVERY other poll has Obama with a huge lead. The most recent poll from Zogby/Reuters/C-SPAN shows Obama with a 12 point lead:

Even FOX News has Obama 9 pts. ahead:

Could it be the fact that the AP poll is nearly a week old, while Zogby, Gallup and FOX's polls were conducted within the last couple of days?

look at page 20 of the pdf 45% of respondents were evangelicals when they are only 23% of the American electorate.

If I took a poll with twice as many black people, or twice as many people with a graduate degree as there really are in the American electorate it would make my guy look good as well.

no, it could be the fact that all polls are B.S.
