Actually the research has shown that far from art imitating life, life is imitating art. Throughout the decades since the UFO craze of the 1940s, UFO abductees and contactees have instead tended to describe aliens that looked like what they had previously seen on TV or in movies or read about in comic books. Those entertainment "aliens" were either what could be made convincingly with puppets or what could be done with various costuming and makeup effects of the time. The original big-headed aliens were big-headed and big-eyed so that the costume head would be big enough to fit over the actor's head, and still give him eye-holes big enough to see through.
The fact remains that the forms of "aliens" change over time as new entertainment comes into vogue. Alien biomorphology should not be subject to fashion if these sightings were of legitimate creatures. Are the aliens themselves changing shape? Or is our speculation of what aliens look like changing shape? Which is more plausible?

Our imagination cannot imagine something from nothing, so the aliens from the movies are constricted by the possibility of our mind. We cannot think of something that is too abstract and that's why it's much easier for us to imagine an intelligent being as a humanoid.
We can easier portray an intelligent being looking like us, or better said, like what our subconscious view of what we think we'll became. Humans are loosing their dentition, so aliens have a very small mouth. We think of them as smarter, therefore, a larger head for a larger brain. We assume they don't use brute force, but their brain, so their body doesn't need to have a lot of muscles. Our most priced sense is sight, while, most animals we know and live close by (for example dogs) have a better sense of smell than us, so we create aliens with very big eyes and no or very little noses.
Why do they all look the same? When someone creates a formula that spells success, why change it?

you're proper, it does not. it may be friendly if anybody demanded to comprehend the reality IF there became as quickly as any reason to have confidence it hasn't already been produced. and there isn't any credible info to help one in each of those tale, altho' the group of Roswell has made a pretty extreme-high quality dwelling on the entire legend and ensuing tourism. A nicely e-e book on the self-discipline is Alien Intrusion, by ability of ability of Gary Bates. It supplies a greater physically powerful sensible explanation of what the alien craft phenomenon somewhat is, instead than the somewhat no longer likely, stunning and impossible difficulty that alien craft's are little green adult adult males from diverse planets.

Aliens need to look somewhat like people to keep people interested in them. And before CGI they usually had to be portrayed by people in costumes, animation or by much more expensive stop motion techniques. So the big head and large eyes are a reliable means of being strange but not too much.

For one thing, because that's what was originally chosen as what aliens look like, and films tend to follow in the footsteps of others to lend more familiarity to the audience. Also, film producers tend to be rather unoriginal as a whole.
If you want aliens that don't look like big-headed, big-eyed humans, try Ridley Scott's "Alien".

Did they look something like this:
They are trying to condition the populace into accepting the coming fake Type III "alien" invasion that will bring in the New World Order. The only thing fake about it will be the "aliens". They will use holograms to augment the show:
After decades of conditioning, billions will fall for it.
Live or holodeck?
Just do NOT ever accept this no matter what:Source(s): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fermi_paradox

Aliens could look like anything you could imagine but the movies have come up with a sort of credible alien,so why change it.

The aliens want to know why all the humans look alike in all the movies coming from earth.

I have no idea. It's silly. Two eyes, two arms, two legs, a mouth, upright, etc. Seems they're all humanoid to some extent. I love Independence Day where the seats in the alien craft are highback and have armrests. lol
