How low is low blood pressure?

At what pressure is blood pressure considered too low?

    Systolic blood pressure (the top number) shouldn't be much lower than 90. This will vary depending upon your build (smaller people tend to have lower blood pressure) and health (athletes tend to have lower blood pressure).

    But when it is too low, you will notice that you start feeling dizzy, light-headed, or feel like your going to faint. This will especially happen when you stand up suddenly, or get up quickly.

    Eat more salt and drink lots of fluids.

    Normal BP is 120/80. Some small individuals or those in very good shape may have normal BP of 100 systolic. Once systolic BP drops below 80 it is too low.
