When asked about Barack Obama's achievements and qualifications for President?
Why do his supporters rattle out this list and feel that it's a big enough "Gotcha" to back everyone off?
*Harvard and Columbia Grad. (Good for him, a lot of people did the same)

So he's been involved in organizations and a member of multiple committees. What way does he qualify to LEAD A COUNTRY? This isn't about McCain, and it isn't about me. If you can't answe the question respectfully and truthfully without making it about someone else, don't bother. Answer the actual question. If Obama hasn't led anything and has only been a part of the crowd all this time and wouldn't even go up against his own party in for any real issue (as admitted by him at the debate), how is he going to get an entire country (not to mention Congress) behind him? Do you care?

Tabbi--Your president right now has a Bachelors from Yale and an MBA from Harvard. I am sure you complain about him. I would think that you need to have brains to go to those "elite" institutions, correct?
Barack has done nothing--I mean NOTHING--that qualifies him more than McCain. His economic plan is a nightmare, his foreign policy plan is a nightmare, and having a Marxist as president is really a nightmare.

Wow - I didn't know he had so many different things going on in the past. I only knew that he started running for President right about the time he got into the Senate. To me, there's not enough experience there, and it seems that he is just power-hungry.

LOL. Do you know that the percentage of people with a 4-year college degree is about 23% (give or take)? This does not include ivy league education, or two in this case. The saying that those you can't do teach refers to people who teach grade school, not a top law school LOL LOL LOL
Leading a country is a big step from any position. So, I can literally say the same thing for McCain. It's really a stupid position. Nice Try.

he won't release his school records from Columbia or Harvard
for a HLR President and member... he has nothing to show for it other than he was there.
It is also well documented that he was HLR president by luck not by his hard work... b/c there is nothing to show for it.
He cut his teeth at ACORN and served on Woods Foundation... both radical organizations posing as mainstream but really aren't.
He was not a professor at UC Law School; he was only there as a senior lecturer.
I can go on and on about his half truths...

I think I am looking foward to having a predisent that not only is well educated, but has devoted part of his life to educating other. I take great offense to you saying "those who don't do, teach", and I'm not even a teacher. It's rare in this world for someone to explain something complex to an individual in plain terms and I feel that's what we really need in a president. To me, George Bush didn't even understand what he was trying to explain to Americans about his own policies. Do you really think that being a leader makes you more qualified to be president? Sarah Palin is the leader of Alaska and she is very underqualified.

Liberals want a socialist president. They could care less that he is not experienced enough for the job. They want a black man and they want a socialist. Regardless of his qualifications (or lack thereof).

It's called "cognitive dissonance".
Basically, it's when you really want something to be true or ok, so you convince yourself thru defense mechanisms such as projection (no I'm not, but you are!), rationalization (sure he's for partial birth abortion, but he'll help the kids that are alive), and denial (Ayers is totally irrelevant/Wright isn't racist at all).

The top three presidents in history: Washington, Lincoln and FDR. had little to no experience for the position yet they did a phenomenal job. These were people able to inspire and lead a nation. If his campaign is any indication of his ability to inspire people then I think he'll do a great job. It's funny. I recently reread the biography of FDR and some of the complaints, criticisms made against FDR were the same ones being made against Obama.
I hope he's half the president FDR was.

Looks very, very impressive to me for a young man ( most presidents are
way old and have been given lots of nice job opportunities by dint of their family name and background) Thanks, marina, I plan to cut and paste your list minus the snide comments of course and send it to my friends. Looks like the day of the top down, sociopathic, over paid CEO is over

If this country is still standing after 8 years of GWB, then as far as I'm concerned anybody is qualified to run this country.
Now regarding Sen. Obama, you know it, I know it, and millions and millions of other Americans know that he is more than qualified to run the country.
You can run America if you are educated on the issues, understand them, and have a plan.
You don't need to run a town or a state to qualify.
