sign up at your fav diaper/formula/etc websites and they will probably send you coupons , enfamil has even sent me 3 cans of formula....got to babies r us and tell them you want to be on the mailing list, etc....look for clearance items....if u are into it, hit garage sales, goodwilll, salvation army, consignment stores....see if their are other ppl in your fam that have hand me downs, or someone in your fam that you can trade off clothes; maybe if you both have other kids you can swap back and forth ; also when they are young u won't need many fancy clothes; check out freecycle and craigslist...i had a boppy i bought new and covers, but i wanted a second one to use for the giggle gadgets cover; basically just for play so i wouldn't have to change them out; anyway, after looking for a week or two i got a boppy that looked brand new with a fleece cover for 8 bucks!! washed it up, if you took the covers off you wouoldn't be able to tell which was new and which was used prior...freecycle is good too...we needed sleepers a while back and found several offered on there that fit perfect...they grow out of stuff so fast at this age, don't spend a fortune!
before i got a handle on myself i bought all kinds of cute clothes as did both gmothers and now she has a lot of clothes she probably will never get to wear because the weather is cooling off too fast....:(
i don't know if you have a sam's club where you are, but if you use enfamil, they have a generic there that has the same amts of the same nutrients, and they have all the variations except AR...i was paying almost thirty bucks for a 25 oz can, and got it at sams for 19 bucks and it was over a 3 POUND can....they also have diapers and wipes and some clothes, books, and toys....i buy the big boxes of swaddlers when i get coupons at babies r us, it is the cheapest per diaper i can find, they are pretty much the same price at sam's and it's the only other place i can find the giant box.....i compared the price per diaper with the box of swaddlers to buying that number of diapers made by luvs at the grocery store and there was barely any difference if any.....
also check the stores like 'dollar general'...i had paid about 8 bucks for a travel wipe case that was just plastic...found same thing in different color there for a dollar, and they have socks, some fisher price things, etc...they even have some bottles, passy, toys, etc...
sorry for the rambling nature but i hope it helps!!
me, kicking myself for buying so much stuff before i checked out freecycle and craigslist and such...DUH
EDIT: when buying baby tylenol, motrin, oragel, mylicon, benadryl, etc...ALWAYS buy generic--if you are unsure which is what , compare the active ingredients and the concentration (so if one says 45 mg per teaspoon, the other says the same)--u can get them pretty cheap at walmart and even dollar general has most of them in generic...
ps if you buy a boppy don't worry about getting those nice soft covers , they don't fit as well as the plain cotton, i had to return two bc they were made by boppy but just didnt fit well...and the cotton ones are cheaper and my dd doesn't seem to care, LOL
