What do you call the people who sit in the booths in the train station?

No they are not toll clerks

but I don't know the name

    In New York Subway and Roosevelt Island Tramway booths, we call them, "Station Agent." (When token used to sell, it was called "Token Clerk."

    Different companies use different titles. In the UK they might be called Booking Office Clerks, or something equivalent.

    Unless by 'booth' you mean 'toilet cubicle'

    In which case they're called 'hobos'.
