You have to look at things from an outside perspective. The democrats or should I say Obama, doesn't want to give you free healthcare, they want to make sure that you are offered healthcare from your employer, and yes they want to regulate it, to make sure that it is affordable. By deregulating healthcare, that allows providers to charge whatever they want, not allowing people to get insurance. As far as education. This has been going on for a long time, but they have grants, federal loans, etc etc. The federal loans, which I currently use, make it easier to get loans for people that may not have let's say the best credit, and still being able to goto school. The welfare department is one gigantic loophole. But what Obama is wanting to do, is extending the unemployment insurance to be able to get people through the tough economic time we all are going through.
You see, it's not that there giving away stuff, there giving you the tools to be able to better yourself. There is nothing wrong with this at all.
With the Republicans, or for this issue, McCain, at this point of our economic crisis, he wants to freeze most of the spending, ie roads/highways, education, technology, etc etc. He only wants to keep open military, VA spending and a couple others. Yes, this decreases spending, but at what cost. No more financial aide, lower education spending (which effects you and/or your kids), no money for roads/highways, would that put us through another Katrina response catastrophe???
I don't think handouts work, but I don't think not giving people the needed tools for them to succeed do either.
