why is it called 12-lead ECG when there are only 10 leads attached to the client?
there are 6 precordial leads and 4 limb leads..6+4=10

Donna has it right, only she didn't explain why it is 12 instead of 10. Although there are only 10 actual leads, there are 12 different pathways being recorded. Some of the leads act doubly, e.g. a to b and a to c. Hope this helps. Good luck and all the best.
