Is it legal for business to charge a surcharge for using a credit card?

I got KFC for dinner tonight, and they informed me that they charged me $0.75 for using a credit card rather than cash. Is this legal?

Call your credit card co and inform them that you are being charged extra for using your credit.

  • Yes it is very legal. They are charged a fee by the credit card machine people and can very well pass it on to you.

probably. i mean some gas stations give a credit and cash price, the credit price being like 2-3% more, so i would assume so..

But that occurring at KFC does seem a little strange.

    Yes, it is legal...

Thank our republican agenda for all the corporate greed that we have to deal with.
