I want to know what happed to edward when bella got her period in the book. any ideas?

Stephenie Meyer has addressed this question many times. She said that technically, it is dead blood, so therefore Edward isn't as appealed to it as fresh blood - from the jugular vein in your throat. And plus, Edward's too much of a gentleman to say anything and Bella's shy.
